Die-Cutting

Contours are die-cut from the material by using a die under pressure.

At HP FOAM, we use die-cutting for a variety of materials: For example, we use PE foam to produce air seals or inserts for promotional cases, and we die-cut a wide range of parts from PU foam for filtration applications.

A special feature of this process is “kiss cutting” of self-adhesive parts. In this process, the cut and coated component is punched down to the paper backing but not all the way through. This allows, for example, self-adhesive gaskets to be easily removed individually from the sheet and processed directly.
