Calendaring/Coating in plastics processing

Calendaring is used to produce coated PU foam strips.

One of HP FOAM areas of specialization is moulded calendaring. We coat moulded PU strips to make them hydrophobic, i.e. water-repellent.

The machine used for this was built to our own specifications, as this unique technology is not part of the industry standard repertoire. In this process, the surface of the PU foam is melted, and as it cools, an extremely uniform water-repellent layer forms.

Of course, an identical process can also be used in the production of water-repellent panels.

Of course, we also offer traditional spray coating as well as the lamination of a thin PU film. Both processes are part of our production portfolio.
